We want more people to organise Skillshare events!
So to help get you started, here’s four main steps to organising your skillshare:
Step One: Find a venue to host your Skillshare. Schools, artists studios, gyms, community centers – anywhere that will be large enough and hopefully will lend you the space for free.
Step Two: Develop class ideas. Look for ideas that work from other skillshares, for example: upcycling products or reinventing unwanted materials, bicycle DIY events; screen printing, knitting workshops and other DIY techniques, and cooking classes.
Step Three: Raise money and resources. Fundraising is essential in order to generate buzz about your event and raise money to cover costs of your overheads, food or supplies. You could get local businesses and friends to donate food, apply for grants, or contact local organisations which could lend you the supplies you need and help promote each other.
Step Four: Start a website/blog or make a video. This is will help people find out about the skillshare project and participate!
Enjoy skillsharing and good luck!
